What comes to mind when you here the words "Renewable Energy? 
Perhaps you think of windmills or solar panels or maybe Niagara Falls, but do think of cows?

New York State has 17 on-farm methane digesters that use the manure from 25,000 cows to produce about 110,000kWh per day.

That's enough electricity to power over 1,600 homes!  New York has the potential to increase it's green energy power by adding more digesters to large farms within the state.  If these farms were to incorporate food waste with their manure they could increase their output to an even greater extent - dramatically! 

That could be enough energy to power over 30,000 homes without the aid of food waste and maybe 60,000 homes with the use of food waste!!!

When you hear:
